Between 7th and 9th of November 2017 anyone who’s anyone in African telecoms and technology will be at AfricaCom 2017. Published as the opening statement on the event website it’s hard to not agree with the organisers, as this is definitely one of the most significant events for telecoms industry in the African continent.
“Three days of thought-provoking content and amazing tech. It’s the place to get deals done.”
– AfricaCom organisers
If you’d like to know a little bit more about the extensive list of speakers and points on the agenda you should definitely check the event’s page.
The event takes place in Cape Town, South Africa – the second-most populous urban area in the country. In 2014, the city was listed as the best place in the world to visit by the American New York Times and the British Daily Telegraph.
An interesting fact worth mentioning is that Cape Town is located at approximately the same geographical latitude as Sydney and Buenos Aires and equivalent to Casablanca and Los Angeles in the northern hemisphere. So now you know!
An important part of the event is The AfricaCom Awards which celebrate the achievements of the best companies, products and personalities improving connectivity and driving Africa through the fourth industrial revolution.
If you’re not attending AfricaCom you should definitely follow the #AFRICACOM hashtag on Twitter. Lots of interesting updates will be shared during the time of the event and it’s the fastest way to view updates in real time.
