HAUD’s CEO shares her thoughts with SC Magazine on SS7 Vulnerabilities
With the spotlight already firmly on SS7 following the recent 60 Minute hack, more vulnerabilities are beginning to surface. A flaw in the international communications standard can allow hackers to hijack WhatsApp encryptions and put user’s data at risk and jeopardise security of one-time SMS codes, according to a recent Positive Technologies report.
It was reported that hackers can now “send, intercept and alter SS7 messages by executing various attacks against mobile networks and their subscribers.”
Many experts in the mobile sector have been sharing their opinion since the report landed.
